Laos is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Myanmar (Burma) and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west. The country covers 236,000 square kilometers (91,400 sq mi) and has a population of 6.8 million. Laos is a socialist state and the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia.
Laos is a beautiful country with many interesting places to visit. The capital city, Vientiane, is located on the Mekong River and is full of temples and other historical sites. Luang Prabang, in the north of the country, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to many Buddhist temples. Other places of interest include the Plain of Jars, Vang Vieng, and the Bolaven Plateau.
Laos is a great place to visit if you are looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The people are very welcoming and the food is excellent. There are many activities to keep you busy, such as hiking, biking, and kayaking, and the scenery is simply stunning. I would highly recommend a visit to Laos – you won’t be disappointed!
